LitePoint z2780 PXI Express Chassis
Designed to support high-bandwidth automated test systems, the LitePoint z2780 is an 18-slot 3U PXI Express chassis that represents a solid base upon which to build many test systems, including those required for wireless communication testing (e.g., LTE, 4G, 802.11ac Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, ZigBee, GPS, and GLONASS). The chassis will provide the necessary infrastructure for high-speed data acquisition, protocol testing, and signal analysis in various research and development, validation, and manufacturing environments.
This chassis has a unique slot layout, feature a single system timing slot alongside ten hybrid and six PXIe peripheral slots. The configurable PCIe Gen2 switch fabric allows for both four-link x4 and two-link x8 topologies. In order to accommodate larger bandwidths for intensive data gathering applications, this configuration will enable a maximum system bandwidth of 8GB/s and 4GB/s for each of the peripheral slots. Additionally, using hybrid slots increases compatibility with PXI Express, cPCI Express, PXI, and CompactPCI modules, giving designers more freedom to incorporate these into system designs.
For reliability the z2780 chassis uses an intelligent system monitoring controller to monitor internal temperatures, fan speeds, and voltage levels on the system. Additionally, the chassis has a unique cooling system that utilizes three high flow fans to keep the internal temperature constant and provide a dedicated cooling source for each slot. The chassis is powered by an 800W industrial AC power supply that operates at a stable level over an extended temperature range (from 0°C to 55°C). Also, the chassis includes BNC connections at the back panel for input/output of a 10MHz clock reference for synchronization purposes. The chassis is suitable for mounting on a bench top or in a rack, making it a solid base for developing and deploying high-end and scalable test and measurement systems.
